Radical Softness

Third Year BA(Hon) Architecture Project CSM
Radical Softness is a project that is based on the principle that designing for the marginalised, in this case older people, creates a more caring and welcoming architecture.
Inspired by the Bromley By Bow Centre’s holistic community centre, that combines a GP surgery, cafe and makers spaces, this project explores extending and improving the use of the existing St Pancras and Somers Town Living Centre, to create a living room for the community, connect the living centre to the Story Garden and provide a space for inter- generational knowledge exchange.
Through this project I engaged with several local stakeholders and ran knitting with local refugee women to discuss their experiences of Somers Town.
